Business Resource Centre (BRC Training) milestone house

Getting a foot on the ladder

getting started on the ladder This offers a choice from 3 qualifications depending on how you would like to see your future career developing.

Benefits

The course provides a flexible combination of secretarial, administrative/business and IT skills at a beginners level (Level 1) and is suitable for those who want a sound foundation on which to build their employment prospects. You can decide which of the options will best help you in your work

Independent surveys as well as feedback from our own trainees shows clearly that professional training can increase your speed and broaden your skills making you more effective and efficient in what you do.

As a small flexible training centre we take the time to find out about your job role and plans so that we can relate your training to your needs.

The modular style of current qualifications, using a credit based approach means that you can select both the areas and their level to suit your job role and career aspirations.

You will be studying for a nationally recognised qualification by the Oxford, Cambridge and RSA(OCR) exam board.

Level 1 Administration (Business Professional), Award, Certificate or Diploma
This course is only offered via distance learning linked to the skills gained while you are at work and enables you to demonstrate the basic skills required in any workplace.

Distance Learning
You get workbooks, exercises and support from your personal tutor, either by e-mail or phone. Because you receive a workbook for each area of study you can fast track through the course if you wish. Your tutor will mark the exercises and provide feedback and provide additional support if required.

Centre based Learning
You arrange times and days that suit you including Saturday mornings and Tuesday or Wednesday evenings. They can vary from week to week depending on your work/family commitments.

Assessments

Assessments may be taken as soon as you can demonstrate the required skills and we make good use of sample assessments to ensure familiarity with the assessment style.

You can take an assessment at the end of each unit as you work through the course and for this reason we encourage students where possible to take the assessments at our Centre. However distance learning candidates may wish to take them all at the end of the course. We can provide details of centres that may be closer to you although you will have to confirm their fees and dates for an assessment.

Flexibility
Using our skills assessment approach and believing in making use of prior knowledge, we do not waste your time if you can demonstrate sound skills based on good practice in particular areas. Training will focus on extending your skills and developing good practice.

Success
Due to the individual attention that our students receive and the focussed approach at entry that determines if the course is right for you, our success rate is very high.

Fees
The fees are shown in the attached file.
